Prachee is the Co-Founder and CSO. She joined Arcadia from the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth, where she was an Associate Professor of Biochemistry and Cell Biology. Prachee is also the head of open science at Astera Institute. Her PhD is in Neuroscience from the University of Utah. Prachee’s favorite organisms are single-celled eukaryotes ideal for studying cytoskeletal machines, including ciliates, parasites, and algae.

Sunanda received her PhD from MIT, focusing on designing the organism–environment relationship across scales. Prior to joining Arcadia, she was a Postdoctoral Fellow at NASA JPL/Caltech, where she supported the SHERLOC deep UV Raman and fluorescence spectrometer on the Mars 2020 Perseverance rover. She studied the diversity and detection of possible biosignatures in planetary environments, working with extremophilic archaea and cyanobacteria. Her favorite organisms are (no surprise) "extremophiles," because they force us to question biases and expand the limits of our understanding of life.

After a brief interlude as a writer and a classical archaeologist, Harper is back in the lab. Tahlia received a BS in Cellular and Molecular Biology from the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse. She's previously worked at other startup companies where she executed a variety of projects, including leading the development and scale-up of plant & microbial strain engineering pipelines, building out and managing research operational infrastructure, overseeing laboratory and facility operations, and project managing facility build-outs. Prior to joining Arcadia, Robert worked as a Publishing Specialist at Scribe Media, a non-traditional book publisher. He received his BA in English (language and linguistics specialization) from the University of Nevada, Reno. Robert’s favorite organism is the mountain lion, Puma concolor, because it has the most common names of any mammal — likely due to it also having the largest historic range of any land mammal found in the Americas.

Ubadah earned his PhD at Virginia Tech, where he studied the rodent visual system, focusing on circuits between the retina and the brain. Prior to joining Arcadia, he was a neuroscientist at MIT where he engineered novel genetic and viral tools for the study and treatment of neurological disorders. He loves platypuses because they defy all the rules we set as biologists and are just weird lil guys.

Prior to Arcadia, Christina worked for over a decade at Plexxikon Inc. and contributed to the success of two marketed drugs, Zelboraf and Pexidartinib. She received her BS in Biology from Cal State East Bay. Christina is intrigued by the Elysia atroviridis sea slugs due to the fact they can decapitate their own heads and regrow their entire bodies — a real life horror movie!

Prior to joining Arcadia, Greg was a Director of Engineering Strategy and Operations at Twitter. He received a BA in Economics from Pomona College. Greg’s favorite organism are dolphins because they are playful, social, and intelligent.
